I really like Wendy Parciak’s words, “I am ready for a ceiling to be shattered. A really big one!” My sentiments exactly. Oh, for it to happen! My husband & I both love Erik Larson and are both planning on reading The Demon of Unrest. Glad to receive a big nod from you about it, Mary!
I just love this little community. Thank you all for reading, sharing, and writing. Susan, hope you both enjoy the new Erik Larson book! I am continually floored by his narrative writing style!
I feel very worried for all that’s going on in our country right now. I ask myself whether it’s any worse than when I was young. Not really. We had Jim Crow, civil rights unrest, my mom couldn’t be on birth control unless she had my dad’s approval, and the list goes on! Are we headed back to those days? Or, are there enough voices to say, “No!”? But, as my vocal mentor always told me, “Put it all on the hum.”
"Put it all on the hum." Could I love that anymore?!!!!! I agree, I too am worried for our country. I'm with you in the "No!!!" Those were not the "good, old days." Come on, Kamala!

I like the community you have created here as well, Mary. Yes, Erik Larson has his own wonderful, unique style of writing!

Crash! Agreed, Wendy. Hey, what's your wise pup up to these days?
He's living the dog's dream - 2 hour morning walk with a swim, every day!
Fear may once have been an effective deterrent to being who we really are. Not anymore.
Truth!!

Anyone who runs against Trump has my vote!!! I had wanted Amy Klobuchar before and believe it is long overdue for a woman to be President!
Cousin, I am with you! With equity and opportunity we all win.
