One other thought…You wrote that you are now speaking up for yourself, yet have lost some friends as a result? You are setting boundaries and sticking up for yourself, Mary. And when you do this, some people don’t respond well. It’s a reflection on them, not you. 🌺🌸🌼
Ha.ha, yep, a Mime. I wonder if that is still a career choice on current job counseling tests? Thank you for the widened lens on my setting boundaries. It reminded me of something my mother told me long ago, and I had to smile when I read it through you. She would have liked you so much.
I had to jump through a fair number of hoops to leave a comment, but I felt that it was important to send hearty congratulations to you. I (former mentor and closeted writer myself) have been reading your posts for a while. You have amazing persistence and tenacity but most of all unfailing heart and soul. Bless you as this event coincides with the loss of your parents such a short time ago. Evidence you are more than equal to all that life asks of you and ALL that you have to give. I take inspiration from that as I move through my SEVENTIES! Much love.

Thank you for jumping through the hoops and for reading my pieces. I am so honored. Was it that long ago that we walked under the redwoods in CA, pondering life, giving birth to dreams and goals?

PS. For my first job, I was a dancing mine for a magic company. I was in a white unitard and had glowing thumbs. 😂 We were contracted to entertain outdoor shopping mall guests and my favorite was pretending I was a mannequin. Quite the gig!
