You are not an Odd Duck, Mary. I like your format in your newsletter as it is...You expressing your thoughts about life. You are open about what you are thinking, which is refreshing. You don't need to change a thing.
Aww..thank you, Mary. I am such a self-reflective person, and I guess all the time I spend alone leaves me with a LOT of time to reflect. I always want to improve, and it's hard rattling around in my own head.
I'm sorry that "Boogie Shoes" is stuck in your head. My mind is picturing your navy blue platform shoes--ah, now there was a way to boogie! I love your format and want you to be you. If you wrote like everyone else, it would be boring. You, as you, are quite interesting.
I LOVED those shoes. 4" of sublime height and fashion. Whew, Nelly, they were real ankle crunchers. Hey, you know that clogs and platform shoes are back in style. I am a flat-to-the-ground girl these days. Thanks for the feedback, Goodge-O. It's such a conundrum as to how to be "myself" and gain readership. A new song is stuck in my head, "I'll Be Good to You" by The Brothers Johnson. LOVE that song!
I love your format and how you freely say how you feel! This is liberating and inspirational. Oh, and the scarf idea is great. I love scarfs and new ways to wear them.
Thank you, Jocelind! Super high compliments and gratefully received. Yes, that scarf idea! I want to go to vintage shops now and find belts and scarves.
Independence and conviction count for so much, Mary. SUCH a great post - i’m right there with you!
Ducks - odd ones or even ones: ALL of them count - are my favourite animal. Like dolphins, pigs and elephants - all glorious creatures - they are always smiling. I mean it - take a look! Ducklings in particular - they are the cutest creatures in the world and I will not take no for no answer to that! Always smiling - mark my words! ❤️
Rebecca, oh yes, they ARE always smiling and just doing their thing. Okay, now I have the song with the words, "It's your thing, do what you wanna do" stuck in my head. Love that song and I so appreciate your input.

You an odd duck? Definitely...wouldn't have it any other way. (Big hug)
The Ultimate Compliment!
I’m so happy to have connected in the IJ community…and to have subscribed. You keep doing you, it’s right on! Hope those words land for you…
Thank you! Yes, the IJ community is pretty amazing. So glad to have connected with you too.

Aww, thank you, Susan. I so appreciate your thoughts and am also really glad you are enjoying my format as is. I do too.
Mary, just be your wonderful self. No need to change.

Be gentle with yourself, Mary. 🌷💕🌷
Thank you, Mary. What a wonderful reminder (and a needed one).

Found a like minded odd duck tribe at WMNF, thankfully.
I am so glad you found your Odd Duck Tribe. It's important, isn't it?
You are not an odd duck. You are Mary. End of story!
Awwwww....Mindy, Mindy, I can feel your hug from here. Thank you.
I don't think we writers could possibly write anything interesting if we weren't very Odd Ducks indeed.
Wendy, you are probably right! I also love the way you wrote, "Odd Ducks Indeed." I said it with a British accent because it just begged for it!

I like Odd Ducks, Mary! Don’t change anything unless it makes you feel better about yourself. I’m here for wherever the ride takes us!
Heather, thank you! Hmmm...now, what kind of vehicle am I picturing for this "ride?" (I am such a visual soul. Oh, I know, a 1970s VW bus. Oh yeah!
You an odd duck? Definitely...wouldn't have it any other way. (Big hug)
Don’t stop being you, Mary! We have a family motto: “You gotta be weird to be in this family.” I extend that to friends as well!
