Am I Just Too Odd a Duck?
I so appreciate my readers/listeners. I haven’t listed your names as some writers do. It does not mean I don’t value you and the time you take to read my thoughts on various things. I do!
Do you want to see your name listed here? Have I made a giant gaffe by not doing so? Oh, dear. My Introvert is showing. It’s not that I don’t want to be appreciated/respected for what I do, for what I produce or create, because I do! I do not like to be the center of attention, so I assume others do not want to be either. I am probably incorrect in this assumption.
I am (as my Mom used to say with love in her voice) an Odd Duck. I cry when trees are cut down and when historic homes are destroyed to build housing developments. I can’t stand teasing, bullying, and exclusion.
I am a Registered Independent because I don’t want anyone telling me how to vote, whom to vote for, or what to think. I value kindness, including people, giving people the opportunity to earn a living wage, and opening the borders as they were open to both sets of my grandparents.
Each time I am rejected for a writing piece, I cry. I mean, cry me a good cry. I don’t want anyone to stop me because I need to let it out. Do NOT send me a photo of a unicorn with words like “Change your mindset, and good things will happen.”
Would more people subscribe to my site if I conventionalized things? I just didn’t think anyone would really care!
But maybe you do care! Okay, here goes. You let me know what you think of this format, please. (With your comments below)
***********
Chic Style Idea: A Scarf tucked into a Belt. I love this! It’s very French and would give me a way to wear my scarves other than around my neck, like some Oxford Wanna Be.
YouTube Channel I Adore: Nikol Johnson. She is such a fun, lively font of knowledge concerning makeup, style, and feeling wonderful about aging.
The song I Can’t Get Out of My Mind: “Boogie Shoes” by KC and the Sunshine Band
Things That Make Me Smile: My vase of Lilacs from my garden, the pair of cardinals that visit my birdfeeders every twilight, My Caterpillar brand steel-toed boots
*Drop me a line below. I am a lost Odd Duck looking to grow her readership and keep you valued members, too!* Thank you for reading and thank you for listening.
You an odd duck? Definitely...wouldn't have it any other way. (Big hug)
I’m so happy to have connected in the IJ community…and to have subscribed. You keep doing you, it’s right on! Hope those words land for you…
