Thanks for this lovely positive message around the 4th - a holiday I was otherwise going to detest this year due to the state of our country (well, and the fireworks, which I dislike because of their effect on wildlife and dogs).
Wendy, thank you. I was really struggling with it. Earlier, I was sitting on my porch, flag flying, and have gotten a number of dirty looks from people. I simply waved and smiled. If I want peace, I need to put the work in.
Aww, thank you, Goodge-O. I am beyond thankful that we had parents who taught us not just by words, but by example, how to be in this world, how to help be a part of the quest of freedom for all.
Mary, I just love this! Thank you for so beautifully and eloquently expressing how so many of us feel right now. I felt different this 4th of July and it is because of what is happening in our country today. I appreciate your sharing your thoughts about all of it. Again, thank you! ❤️
I can’t speak highly enough of you or your book or the piece you’ve written here. You give me hope where there is otherwise little hope on the horizon. Wish I had more eloquent words this morning but simple is sometimes enough. I love you, Mary.
You've expressed what so many of us are feeling, Mary. Thank you! Through all of the yuck of what our country has gone through and is currently going through, we STILL love this country, we still love our neighbor, we still hold hope for being better Americans. Appreciate you for putting it all to words so well! Many blessings and MUCH LOVE, ~Wendy💜
