Who knew that there were a band of us? Thank you for being a part of this cadre' of clothing specific people. Thank you! May we all travel with no tags, pants we can escape from, socks on just right and anything else we may need to make life sweeter.

Socks!! Socks can send me over the edge. The seam line by the toes, can't have and folds or be off center. Also if they squeeze/compress too much aghhhhh! That is all I think about while I am walking around trying to act normal. Ha!!! My daughter has the same issue. I'm with you on the snake thing too!

I laughed so hard, "That is all I think about while I am walking around trying to act normal." Yes to that! Love this story. Thank you!

Oh yeah, I’m in a familiar place with this one! Tags, seams, wet and scratchy fabric! Mine, according to my self assessment, is a pain in the backside; however, there is a more clinical name, “tactile sensory input”. I know we’re talking about anxiety, but, believe me, they go hand in hand for me! My whole body shudders at the mere thought of putting a top on that has its tags in it! I try to grab the tag before it hit my skin. And, if I’m too late, I have to immediately take it off. When I was a girl, I would fall to pieces if I knew it was a “tights” day. Oh those seams right at the toe. I’d be the one whose toe cap would be pulled far back to the top of my foot, poking out of my shoes! Yesterday was the first day I put on “footless leggings” in light of the snow! Naturally there are no seams and no tags! This is going to be a good day. 🌸

Not only do I love the title of this piece, I can totally relate to it. I've had clothing claustrophobia ever since accidentally locking myself in a closet when I was four. Stuck zippers are the stuff of nightmares!

"Clothing claustrophobia." Yes, Wendy, that is what it is, isn't it? Looks like we are not alone. Thank you for your story-I feel so badly about little you locking yourself in a closet!

I’m glad you found escapable jeans at that store!

Maria, I love this, "Escapable jeans." See, I need the tags to say that! Sylvie says I need "Pants Evacuation Drills" to ensure I can get them off quickly. Thank you, for a good laugh, Maria.

Oh. And the hair on my arms being rubbed in the opposite direction. Stupid but true.

My "other half" feels the same way, which is why we can't have ceiling fans. Sigh... May your hair always stay flat to your arms. Hey, not stupid, just true. Thank you for your story.

I have friends who have bad claustrophobia & they don’t understand why I always ask for a window seat on airplanes. It feels cozy to me, but obviously not to them. In college friends who had claustrophobia always asked me in ride in the back seat of two-doors cars. 😉
