I had an experience this week that deepened my compassion and empathy for those who struggle day to day. I was working with a young person fraught with mental health issues recently. I could see that person’s inner struggles and torment. They wanted to be heard. I sat for three hours listening and responding with an open heart. They thanked me at the end and asked if they could come back.

Oh yes! The son of a friend and neighbour likewise recently - and now, even more than before, I make eye-contact , say, hi, ask how they are doing... a moment can save a life

I am so sorry, Mary. You are a very compassionate, caring human being. I love your words about every one of us having a story. We truly do all have our own unique, personal stories. Whenever I hear someone making a judgement or a comment about someone they don’t know, I simply say, “Everyone has a story.”
