Thank you, Gina. I am finding it very hard, as those around me, feel I should be "over it." I so appreciate your kind words.

You’re welcome, Mary. Grief is so different for each person. From my own experience, I don’t think we “get over it.” Instead, gradually the waves crash less often and less intensely and the loss and grief are integrated into our lives over time. Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing your experience with us.

Mary -- thanks to you, Dan F has been a lifelong go-to:

"I take my place along the shore

And I wait for the tide

It seems I've passed this way before

In an earlier time

To every man the mystery

Sings a different song

He fills his page of history

Dreams his dreams and is gone."

I cried when I read your post. Always felt close to your family...and still today despite the distance of time.

Condolences.

Dan...his words are stunning and these hit the mark. Mom, mom was that unifying force wasn't she? Thank you old friend.

Thank you, Wendy. I am in unknown territory and people keep saying, "This is your new normal." Nothing about this feels "normal." I so appreciate your kindness.
