Mary, thank you so much for this post - your list is wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!

I like to chop for therapy - I mean food, not wood! One of my greatest pleasures is cooking, and if I need to calm down, destress or sort my head out I'll chop a load of onions, carrots, celery, cabbage or peppers; make a batch of sauerkraut, coleslaw, chilli, stew or bolognese... Even the clearing up afterwards is therapeutic - it's such a release! Plus I get to fill the freezer and take comfort in the knowledge that I've got plenty of homemade ready meals on hand, or a couple of huge jars of bubbling kraut on the worktop.

Oh, Rebecca, what a delightful list of your chopping therapy! Thank you for this. It is also so fabulous that you turn the fruits of your frustration into meals that make my mouth water! I'll bring the bratwurst to go with the kraut, and all we dear people on Route to Rise here can break bread together.

Hello dear friend! To let off steam, I sing or hum. It’s so self soothing for me. Sometimes, I just sit and let my mind wonder. Or, I listen to birds chirping—such a melodic sound. Lastly, I’ll turn some music on and dance!

I like your list. I head out on a walk or journal to relieve tension. Not one of my hikes for exercise, but a slower, deep in thought’ walk. Both help me a lot.
