So, now thousands of Americans are without employment and were not given any time to find employment elsewhere. Hmmm…does this make sense? It is reactive rather than reflective action.
The Kennedy Center is now under the control of someone who has the job with the most responsibility in our country already. This individual claims that five nights of the Chinese Ballet theater is promoting a Communist agenda. So, let me get this straight, we’re going back to the McCarthy Era? This individual has said that they have never been to a performance at this institution because there has been “nothing worth seeing.” Sounds like someone truly invested in art, yes?
Oh, you know I could go on, but instead, I shall stay on topic with a slight twist. I have seen the listing of “Action” items and dates for those of us who are not, let’s say, interested in taking over a small country, making our allies into our adversaries, and a host of other ass backward activities.
I think, that in any kind of “Action” one must consider the ramifications and also the potential impact to elicit change in the, how shall we say, offending situation and those responsible for it/them. The “Don’t Go to Work” Action ramifications are scary. So, you don’t want hospital workers, elderly care workers, utilities workers to go to work on that day? Would you like to be fired and jobless? How is this helping?
Flooding our Legislators, both State and Federal, our Congress people and Senators from both parties with our thoughts is of utmost importance. Make your voice heard. Give compelling reasons for particular actions to stop. Promote alternative answers. Yes, one voice can make a difference. One person’s actions can make a difference. Let it be yours. Let us Stop the Madness in a measured, swift, cool-headed way. Well, you can do what you want. It is America. At least for now.
Don’t let, what happened to Germany 70 years ago, be what happens to America now. Hitler rode in on the bandwagon of economic recovery and rebirth of national pride.
Go to work, write and speak out. Thank you for reading my piece today. Yours in what can be, yours in the acknowledgement that the way our country was formed was atrocious, and the goals of the Constitution are glorious. Let us strive for those goals, both individually and as a country.
Well said, Mary! May we all take decisive action to right this ship! Blessings, ~Wendy💜
You are so right. We must speak out!
